After finishing in a respectable 10th position last season, Deportivo will be disappointed by their start this year. They have made something of a recovery and now lie outside of the relegation places. 3 wins in 5 have helped with 2 of those convincing home performances.
Hercules have not played well away from home and I fancy Deportivo to continue their resurgence.
With their passage to the last 16 of the champions league secured, Marseille can concentrate on their league campaign for the next few weeks.
Their lead at the top is a slender 1 point and they will be hoping to consolidate their position with an away fixture at Nice, where they tend to do well. Last year they did the double over Nice and I take them to do it again.
Aue are coming off the back of a real drubbing at Cottbus whilst Ingolstadt belied their poor early form with back to back wins including a really good result at Bochum. However such a good price for top v second from bottom is too tempting to pass up. Although Aue lost their last game their home form has been excellent with 6 successive wins. Home win!
I think this is a fair price for one of the big teams in the premiership at home. Man C have played pretty well at Eastlands and host a Bolton side in good form, but tend to be a bit flakey on the road especially against the bigger sides.
Novara have impressed on their return to serie b after a 7 year absence and they currently sit 5 points clear. Their home form has been particularly strong with 7 wins and 20 goals in 8 games. Crotone are a mid table side with mid table form. I take Novara to continue their terrific form with another win.
Under new manager Rafa Benitez Inter have not gone well in the early stages of Serie A, a number of injuries hasn't helped. 6th currently and 9 points behind rivals AC Milan they need a win. They played better in midweek and with their last 16 qualification secured I expect them to kick on in the league and beat a mediocre Fiorentina side.
Top plays fifth as the most in form side in the division host Innsbruck. Ried have useful home form and have good recent history against the visitors. Wacker meanwhile have only 4 points from the last 15 and have been struggling for goals. I take Ried to consolidate their lead at the top.
The Tuscan side welcome the league's bottom side to Stadio Carlo Castellani. Empoli are currently in the play off positions though have only won once in their last seven games. The stats are slightly misleading as they have only played 2 of those games at home where they are strong.
Sassuolo are having a miserable season and I don't fancy it to get any better today.
Dietmar Demuth's Babelsberg side will approach this one with confidence after two successive victories which followed a difficult run of form. The visitors meanwhile haven't won since 11 September and sit in the relegation places, I expect this one to be tight but I think evens is a good price for the home team.
Newcomers to league adelante Ponferradina host Celta Vigo at El Toralin. The visitors are hoping for a return to La Liga and sit third at the moment. They have only lost once this season but recent form has included too many draws. I hope a win last week signals a return to form. The home side have been up and down alternating wins and losses, but I think Celta will be a little too strong.
