Last time they was plying two seasons ago when Southampton played in Premier league and I must say that hosts has very negative record against Manchester United. They manage to get back but still they has poor team for this level of competition. Southampton lost last 6 games against manchester, 4 of them at home ground

Manchester will get all 3 points here mainly because Southampton already showed against Wigan they can not cope with well organized teams at their own turf. Manchester will look to keep things tight at the back and will score at least 2 goals, although I see them bang even 3 so will be taking the over as well.
