In an opening game, teams do not want to make a losing start so they play cautiously. Looking at these two sides, both teams are not prolific goal scorers. Poland's three out of last five friendlies have all been under while four of Greece's last five games have produced less than 2.5 goals. With Greece being strong defensively and poor when going forward, it is more likely that this game will end with under 2.5 goals being scored.

Opening game are always hard for the hosts as there are lots of expectations from the home supporters for the team to excel. Both these two teams don't have impressive records at international tournaments (apart from the Euro 04 for the Greeks). Poland did not manage to get past the first round at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups and Euro 08. This will be the Greece's third consecutive Euro's but apart from Euro 04, they failed to get past the group stages in Euro 08 and World Cup 2010. With the home support and exciting young players especially the Dortmund trio, I think the Poles might just pip the Greeks in this one.

All of Europe is in soccer and also Poland is looking forward to the opening game today against the Greeks. The euphoria is great and of course the fans expect a win. Poland had a very good test preparation. They have good players in recent years, with Lewandowski, Peszeck and other players who play in Germany and Europe. The guests from Greece had qualified as the second of the group, but had some difficulties in the test matches. The greeks will set at the defensive and stand behind. At the start I don't think that here are many goals. Therefore, under 2.5 goals

Poland will play their first match on this EURO 2012, opponent is Greece. I do not expect an easy match, Poland is a slight favorite, they will play at home ground, it gives them advantage. Greece always playing defensive football, to be honest, i expect a very boring match, without winner after final whistle of referee.

Hello, everyone!Here is the first game for this competition and however the home team opens the tournament against the team from Greece.Don't forget that the "visitors"own that cup, but it was something unbelieveble even for them.Now is a different situation.The home team looks stronger with names like Lewandowski, Blachikowski and Obraniak and the name of the home support, which is the twelve and the most important player for cometition like this.So, why don't prefer a win for Poland or even maybe an advance in the first half!?Good luck!

Poland should win this one, cause they're playing at home, which is a big advantage and Greece is one of the most accessible teams in the group(compared to Russia for example and even Czech Republic). They have a decent attack line and I really don't understand why is the under 2.5 so highly viewed. None of these two teams will want to play for a draw so they'll come out and play. Greece scores in almost any game they play and if both score than over 2.5 seems quite logical to me. Poland is the better side. They won two times against 2-0 against Greece in a friendly in 2009 and drew 0-0 afterwards in Greece. Results of Greece in friendlies include: 1-1 draw against Russia, Slovenia and Belgium and a 1-3 defeat against Romania. But, as I said before I consider that having supporters beside them will be a big advantage for Poland. I will pick home win and over 2.5, because I don't think that Greece will just stand there taking it.
